Yes. HomeLister does what the listing agent would ordinarily do in the escrow process. However, HomeLister does not replace the title/escrow companies.

  • The function of a title company is to write an insurance policy for the buyer in case you don't have legal title.

  • The function of an escrow company is also to hold money from the buyer and bank and title from you. The escrow company doesn't let the other side get the money or title, respectively, until all conditions of closing have been satisfied. In many areas, the same company provides both title and escrow services and is referred to as the closing agent.

HomeLister does not handle escrow in any state except Florida. In Florida, HomeLister Title services does offer title and escrow services. A seller may choose to use our title services in Florida and we will provide escrow services.

HomeLister does offer Transaction Management services to assist with the negotiation process and help manage the paperwork. Once you have accepted an offer, we will provide you with a transaction coordinator to work with you and your escrow agent or closing attorney. They will help manage all documents and disclosures as well as keep the team aware of key dates to ensure a smooth and successful close for all parties. This service can be added to the Basic package and is included in the Premium and Platinum package.
