What Happens if I Already Have a Listing on Zillow?

Do I have to take it down?

When we put your home in the MLS, that listing will get sent to Zillow, Trulia, Redfin, Realtor.com, Homes.com and many more.ย

When you list on the MLS, Zillow will overwrite any for sale by owner (FSBO) listing with the MLS listing as they only allow one listing with the same property address at a time. They have this policy to ensure that all listings have the same information, price, etc. The listing will display the property as listed by HomeLister and will no longer show as for sale by owner.

Zillow will automatically replace your for sale by owner listing with the MLS listing, however, it sometimes causes syndication issues and doe not update correctly if the owner listing is not removed first. We recommend you take down the Zillow listing before going live on the MLS. If it is not off market for at least a full day, they will not reset the days on market to zero.
